• Description existante : « Spanish artist Malena Valcárcel takes recycled books and gives them new life by transforming them into incredibly intricate book sculptures, jewelry, and other trinkets. Growing up in the Canary Islands, Malena has always been drawn to the beauty of the world, from its trees and clouds to its houses and butterflies. She is fascinated by the way beauty can be found anywhere, and aims to reproduce that in her art. Having never received formal training, she began experimenting with the art of paper a few years ago. Since, her talents have clearly blossomed. As she continues to grow her skills, she never ceases to be amazed by what can be created by simply cutting and shaping paper.
